Social Work Degree Completion Program
The profession of Social Work is concerned with the prevention and remediation of social problems. The bachelor’s degree in Social Work, BSW, provides the student with the skills, knowledge and values essential for ethical, competent social work practice and prepares him/her for a career in professional social work. Students in the Social Work Program contribute to the mission of the University by learning to understand others, to appreciate cultural diversity, and to assist others in improving the quality of life of individuals, families, groups, organizations and communities. Brescia University ’s Social Work Program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
Ministry Formation Program
Brescia University has a long term commitment to online education. At this time, the pastoral ministry/theology online program consists of two sets of foundational accredited undergraduate courses. In addition to their academic content, these courses provide students with an orientation to Catholic ministry. They present the concepts foundational to the recently approved National Certification Standards and Competencies for Parish Ministers and for Lay Ecclesial Ministers—standards approved by the Office of Certification and Accreditation of the U. S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. Since Brescia is an accredited university, these courses may be transferable to other accredited private, state, and community colleges and universities insofar as they may contribute to the student’s chosen program of studies at that institution.
